Unfreeable
03:40
|
|||
Small sentences, big stories
Say more, less often, infrequently
To say no comment, is to say more than you mean
Give it a think, head shrink, share your truth with me
It’s too easy a trap to fall in to, and, i
I I did it again, I’d be unfreeable
Mean what I say, not by sites seen
This day’s honesty has been brought to you by someone else’s dreams
Cuckold to my own advice, bystanders pay the price
I am leaving on a flame, you’ll never forget my name
And now the end is near, or you wouldn’t see me here
I am the bringer of the fire
You’ve never seen a better liar, and you never will again.
It’s too easy a trap to fall in to, and
If I did it again, I’d be unfreeable
Like a lazy slapstick cartoon
Or a parody of myself
Completely unfreeable.

Viper's Nest
03:27

Personification of drama
Ruin the lives of your friends
You want to die by the knife? Well, get on with it then
Or just get out of the room, before you ruin that too
You’re not welcome in here
Oh and by the way, you only did this to you.
You’re scared of me? I’m terrified!
You feel a bit sad? I feel afraid to be alive
You made your choice, despite my voice
Sweating and bleeding profusely
Bruised by the years that you leached our love, so loosely, and I let you
So don’t remind me how much I should hate you
I did not give up, I only got strong enough
So take only what you’re owed, because this shit's piling up
I did not give up, I only got strong enough
The psychosis of a migraine, this is completely fucking insane
There is marble where my heart was, hardened cold by this catharsis
I think I’m making progress, maybe I’m to fucking modest
But if there’s one thing this has taught us it’s that people can be venomous
So don’t slip into that viper’s nest.

Freefall
04:41
|
|||
I’m sick and tired of being right every time something don’t feel right
Head in the clouds with my feet on the ground but I don’t sleep tight
Gain too much altitude, pull up into a stall when I’m in your sights
You know the feeling of how a tailspin lets us re-begin?
This love was always a freefall
This love was always a
Bubble we shared, careless with each fleeting moment
This love was always a
Way to ignore what we’ve found ourselves in this predicament
This love was always a
Way to believe that something could actually be heaven sent
You know the feeling of how a tailspin lets us re-begin?
I don’t want to concede but we’ve been losing speed
So pull us out of this stall
This love was always a freefall
So close your eyes
Turn your back to the ground
Those butterflies
Can’t catch us now
They can’t soften the blow, it was our time to go
Put a crack in the earth, I guess this was bound to hurt.

Ink
04:06
|

Well, I was born with detest in my blood
Always compared what should not and should
Fear is a tactic, it’s not shy of design
It’s aided, it’s abetted
It’s perfected my crime
Style unfolds like a red velvet carpet
It goes on for miles but it only leads to a tar pit
I can’t reconcile, but I also can’t forget
All the while unable to forfeit
I want to pour ink on beautiful things
And to defecate upon an angel’s wings
Because they weren’t meant to fly
It’s in most of our dreams and it won’t go away
Iit’s a longing for something that has been kept at bay
The keys to the gate are just out of reach
We can’t even learn the sermon that we’ve been trying to preach
I want to pour ink on beautiful things
And to defecate upon an angel’s wings
Because they weren’t meant to fly
And apparently neither was I
I want to pour ink on beautiful things.

Mitch for Mayor Edmonton, Alberta
Taking their name from a misguided political aspiration, Mitch for Mayor formed in 2017 and began storming venues around
Edmonton with a frenzied and unruly display of rock and roll.
They have released two EPs: Out of the Rhubarb (2019) and Swell as Hell (2022). The band is set on pushing hard-riffing rock and roll to the limit, seeing what breaks, then pushing it even further. Enjoy the show.
