Stuck back here on this plane, Driving a hundred miles insane, Half asleep, laying down in cruise control, Head first through the window of a winnebago.. I’ve got a dreadful wailing on the back, I’ve got a man on the phone with a heart attack.. Theres too much coming up ahead, Not here, not now, this land is dead. Make a stop for some time to realign, Brush up the dust and the salty grime, The leader of the pack takes a shine to me, I’ll be an honoured guest at his party. A guest at his house, I’ll make myself at home, When all too soon it’s time to go.. Got too much laying on the line, and, These guys want human sacrifice. So I drive, just drive: keep my foot down with the pedal on the floor. Drive, just drive: open my eyes and keep them on that fucking road. Land starts blurring in to soup, I’ve got a dreadful wailing on the roof.. Slow and fast both get us stuck, but We’re hot on the heels of pure bad luck. The rear view mirror keeps up the pace, A reflection of who’s giving chase. They’re coming up quick and the corner is blind, I’ve got to loosen my load and lose my mind. I don’t know what I’m running from, but, You can bet it ain’t pretty.. I don’t know how I got in to this one, but, No one cares who’s privy. I’ve gotta run run run all day and all night, Because there’s no time left to make friends with those who wish to fight. I won’t notice it’s strange until I’m awake. So I drive, just drive: keep my foot down with the pedal on the floor. Drive, just drive: open my eyes and keep them on that fucking road. Drive, just drive: my heart is still beating so I’m gonna need some more. Drive, I won’t drive: No More.

Fine 03:06
Well we’ve got some words to share, At least I know I do, Not sure if you’d actually hear, Even if you’d listened.. You’ll turn off and tune out, A mind already made up, Before listening you shout, Do you ever just shut the fuck up? Just a word or two, before you write me off, Just another expense, and I don’t fit your budget.. I’ll be fine, as you’ve never been, It doesn’t matter, You choose not to see. Maybe it’s just not worth it, To even waste my breath, You’ve painted a picture of right and wrong, Well I can tell I fit the last.. If you’ve not got the time to bother, Then go ahead and paint alone, It’s your own art to smother, But to neglect is to condone. Just a word or two, before you write me off, Just another expense, and I don’t fit your budget.. Just a word or two, before you scrub me out, Just another smudge, on your perfect record.. Because, I’ll be fine, as you’ve never been, It doesn’t matter, You choose not to see. Its not easy to practice preachings of your own now, is it? Its not easy to swallow your own dose, now is it. So go on, get over it, because I’ll be fine, As you’ve never been.

Senseless 02:54
Well I’ve found my purpose in purposelessness, Annihilating good sense like a nihilistic sadist. Perfectly imperfect, I’m arriving at bliss, Discontented by the content and striving for less: It don’t make no sense. It won’t matter in the morning, or the afternoon.. It won’t matter if it’s late or if it comes, too, soon.. I can’t pray for rain while I’m selling all this sunshine.. I can’t remain mundane while I’m seeking out this limelight: It don’t make no sense. Apathetic to the ignorance that trickles through, Don’t care that I don’t know, and neither should you. I’ve found my purpose in purposelessness, Tossing caution to the wind like a nihilistic sadist. It don’t make no sense, so I’ll plead ignorance, No it don’t make no sense.

In My Light 02:43
I get frustrated like everybody else, and I’ve got secrets that I just can’t wait to tell. I don’t know why I still give advice, but I’m better than you at keeping in the lies. Now I’m so convinced that I am always right, So come in, or get out, you’re standing in my light… Listen to what I say, and, practice what I preach, and Just for a tease, let’s see how far you can reach. Take this medicine and call me up at dawn, Eat it all up and you’ll see I’m the only man who’s never been wrong. How is it for you to be omniscient? Infinite possibilities? Because you’re so convinced you’re always right, You say come in, or get out, you’re standing in my light. I’m so convinced that I am always right, So come in, or get out, you’re standing in my light

about

Mitch for Mayor Edmonton, Alberta

Taking their name from a misguided political aspiration, Mitch for Mayor formed in 2017 and began storming venues around Edmonton with a frenzied and unruly display of rock and roll.
They have released two EPs: Out of the Rhubarb (2019) and Swell as Hell (2022). The band is set on pushing hard-riffing rock and roll to the limit, seeing what breaks, then pushing it even further. Enjoy the show.
